Marching Band
The Superior Rated Flowery Branch High
School Falcon Marching Band is the most visible performing ensemble of the
band program. The Falcon Marching
Band plays a vital role to all of the football games during the season. Its members are made up of interested
students enrolled in the band classes.
The marching band also includes members of the auxiliary (color guard and
majorettes). Auxiliary members are
permitted on an audition basis only and are not required to be enrolled in a
band class. Because this ensemble is
an extra-curricular activity, there is a financial obligation for participation. The marching band performs at
competitions, home and away football games, pep rallies, spring trips, parades,
and many other opportunities throughout the school year.

Concert Band
The Flowery Branch High School Concert Band is a performance ensemble comprised of all freshmen
instrumentalists. The Concert
Band will perform at the GMEA Large Group Performance Evaluation and other
performances throughout the year.

Jazz Band/Combos
The Flowery Branch High School Jazz
Band/Combos are made up of any interested students that are interested in
learning the art of improvisation.
The band is a performance group that participates in festivals and other
events held around the community.
There may be a minimal cost involved for participation to purchase uniforms. |

EDGE Percussion
The Flowery Branch High School Indoor
Percussion (aka, EDGE Percussion), is an extension of the Flowery Branch
High School Marching Band.
Students are auditioned near the end of the fall semester and participate in
competitions throughout the state during the spring semester. For more information, visit

Small Ensembles
Small Ensembles can be made up of two
or more students that meet on their own to rehearse material written for their
group. Examples of these ensembles
are: Brass Quintets, Woodwind Quintets, Duets, Brass Choir, Mallet Ensemble,
etc. If you have an idea for a
small ensemble, see the band director for help in scheduling rehearsals for
coaching and selecting music. Small
Ensembles are eligible to compete at the GMEA Solo and Ensemble competition
during the spring and other various performance opportunities throughout the
year. |
